What's involved in creating a custom website design?
UNDERSTANDING ITS PURPOSE: Creating a one of a kind custom website design involves getting to know the client, their organization, and learning what they want the website to accomplish (provide information, sell items, etc.). Depending on the situation, this is done through in-person meetings, Emails or telephone calls. To better understand their vision for the site, we also discuss any ideas they might have for how they'd like the site to look, specific features they want it to offer, and more.
UNDERSTANDING THE SITE'S CONTENT: Before creating a custom website design, we need to know what actual content is to appear on the site -- the text, graphics, photographs, etc. Having this information helps us determine the general "personality" or feeling the site needs to convey, how many pages it will contain, what navigation features are required, and so on.
INITIAL SITE DESIGNS: Based on the above, we then create one or more unique, custom website designs that we feel best represent the client and will be easy to use for future visitors. Depending upon the project, budget and other factors, between 2-4 designs are created electronically as actual web pages and then presented to the client for their selection.
SITE DEVELOPMENT & TESTING: Once the final design is selected, we then use the clients' content to create the actual pages of the final website. Depending on the project we may also create additional graphics or photographs. When all the pages are completed, the site is thoroughly tested for accuracy and then presented to the client for final review and testing.
MAKE THE SITE LIVE (OPERATIONAL): Once the client has reviewed and tested the website, we will make the site live. on the Internet This process involves electronically transferring the web pages to a hosting company and testing everything one last time. At this point, the website is fully operational and available to visitors on the Internet.
