I’m always drawn to lone trees on the landscape. Perhaps it’s how they stand out against the horizon that so quickly draws my eye or that sometimes causes me to how they survive where others could not. This beautiful tree was the only one visible for as far as my eye could see as I drove through the hills of Adams county in Southern Ohio. The dramatic sky colors as sunrise approached made it an even more beautiful and memorable scene. [Photo 1030]
