Wayne National Forest, OH
Set in the foothills of the Appalachian mountains, Wayne National Forest is a breathtaking landscape of hills, valleys and forests. With over 240,000 acres divided into three separate units, and 300-miles of hiking trails, it is home to one of the most biologically diverse areas of flora and fauna in the Midwest and a diverse variety of trees including oak, hickory, maple, yellow poplar (tulip trees), beech and various types of pines. To capture this photo I hiked in the dark for over 90 minutes to a spot I’d see the day before and waited for sunrise. Just before sunrise a fog started to build and as the sun rose in the sky beautiful rays of sunlight streamed through the fog creating this beautiful scene of shadows, outlines and light in motion.
