Description
Blue Ridge Mountains, NC
At the end of a 3-week long photo shoot across the Southern US, I “should” have been finishing my 9-hour drive home. Instead, I detoured and hiked for hours to sit and watch sunset over the Blue Ridge Mountains in Western North Carolina and, what a sunset it turned out to be. As the sun slowly approached the horizon, the famous blue haze in the valleys and dazzling colors in the sky and mountaintops from high humidity created this mesmerizing scene. The term “blue” comes from the natural haze or vapors given off by the trees and plants of the surrounding forests. [Photo 7071]
