I’ve always loved watching the beauty and dramatic colors of Sandhill Cranes and admire how they are extremely family-oriented and form strong lasting relationships with their young, often for years. Small groups of sandhills are often found in four areas of Ohio. Hoping to capture the beauty and nature of these birds, I travelled repeatedly over three years to a lake in Northern Ohio waiting for the perfect moment and captured it in this photo as a mother and her child enjoy a dramatic sunset together.
