Grand Lake St. Marys, OH

Measuring 9 miles across and 3 miles wide, Grand Lake St. Marys is the largest inland lake in Ohio. After photographing for years it’s easy to know when a situation is so unique that a traditional photo would never work.  Here, fast moving clouds at sunset created a changing kaleidoscope of colors that could not be conveyed in a single photo. For this image I made dozens of photos as the light and shapes changed over 15 minutes and then blended them together. I hope you enjoy it.
